In reply to Mr. Beetham, Mr. Shoehan said the route for the railway between Featherstou and Palmerston was laid out, and tenders for the work would be called for from timo to time as the line progressed. Mr. Fitzroy, referring to the reason given for not sending the Hinemoa to Ho bar t Town for Sir William Jervoise in January, asked what was the nature of the "important business" on which the vessel would be employed. Sir George Grey said Ministers were not now bound to answer the question, but if Mr. Fitzroy would repeat it next session the Government would state on what work she wrs employed during January (laughter).
