KAIWARRA LOCAL BOARD. Summons to the Defendant upon an Information or Complaint. To the Owner of a Horse described as follows, namely— a Grey Gelding, branded jj WHERE4S information hath been laid before the undersigned, one of Her M ajesty's Justices of the Peuce in and for the Colony of New Zealand, fur that some person, who is to tbiscomplaiuant unknown, was on the 26th day of November, 1877, the owner of a grey gelding branded jj found wandering without any person having thereof, upon land abutting upon Westiniuster-street, iv Kaiwarra aforesaid, not being a common and not having any fence dividing the said land from tho said street, and which said grey gelding has been seized by the complainant and placed by him in a certain paddock at Kai- . warra, in the said colony, pursuant to section 42 of the amended By-laws of the Kaiwarra Local Board. This is to command you to appear on Friday, the 7th day of December, 1877, at. 11 o'clock in the forenoon, at the Resident Magistrate's Court, Wellington, before such Justices of the Peace as may then be there, to answer to the said information, and to be further dealt with according to law. Stanley is a light chesnut, and was bred by David Smith, of Silverstream, Taita, and Hutt.' Stanley, is rising four years old, stands 17 hands high, and possesses immense boue. He was got. by Young Hero, imported from Tasmania. Young Hero by the Lincolnshire cart stallion Liucolushire Hero, imported to Tasmania by W. R. Q. Kormode, Esq. Lincolushire Hero bred by Mr. George Stanthorpe, by young Honost John. Lincolnshire Hero's dam was by old campson. Stanley's dam was Grace vail'wg, got by England's Hupo ; granddum Black Diamond, imported from Tasmania by Mr. Frazer, of Alana. Young Hero, v hen shewn as a yearling at the Apr them Agricultural Show against a uumboV of colts, gained the first prize. Young Hero, when' a two-year-old, was shewn at the Great Western Agricultural Show, and took the first prize against all comers ; he al o, at the same time, gained the first prize for being the best two-year-old' Liucula colt got by Lincolnshire Hero. Youug Hero, when a four-year-old, took the first prize at the Waikouaiti aud Shag Valley Agricultural and Pastoral Association ; he also, at the same tinie, gained the first prize for being the best animal of the draught stock on the ground. Same year gained the first prize at the Blueskin Agricultural and Pastoral Asseciation. Stanley will leave the Upper Hutt evory Monday, aud travel to tho Taita, Lowor Hutt, Ngahauranga, Johnson ville, and Porirua, reaching Pahautanui on Wednesday, returniug on Thursday back to the Upper Hutt, via Belmont. Terms — Single mare, £4 ; two or more mares, £3 10s ; groomage fee, 5.«, to be paid for first service. Every care taken, but no responsibility. All mares to be paid on or before 31st January, 1878.
