Mr. Boweu, in reply to, Mr. Carrington, said it would not be fair to state tho .exact amount of the tender which tho Government had proposed accepting for the Central Prison. It was, however, a satisfactory tender, and so near the estimate that, but for the resolution of the House, the' Government would have accepted it. Mr. Montgomery obtained leave to introduce a bill to preveut members of the Assembly from being appointed to offices of emolument under the Government. ' .
