Messrs. J. and A. Campbell have served a writ for £10,000 on the Provincial Government re western railways. 6th September. The challenge competition between the Dunedin and Wellington Fire Brigades for a cup of the value of twenty guines, with eight men on, each side, is to be run off at Dunedin on Boxing- Day. Dunedin will be represented by at least four of those who took part in the Ballarat demonstration, viz., Murphy^ Rhodes, Webster, and Grant.
