WELLINGTON DISTRICT HIGHWAYS BOARD.
The usual monthly meeting of the Wellington District Highways Board was held at the office, Lower Hutt, on Wednesday. Present : Messrs. Sinclair, Speedy, Taylor, Smith, Monaghan, Searanke, and Mason (chairman). It was resolved that a bonus of £5 be given to the collector (Thomas Robinson), and that the amount be charged to Ward No. 1 repairs account. The following sums were ordered to be paid • —No. 1 Ward: Messrs. Monk tc Anderson, repairs, £27 ss: Hooper ie Hawkins, repairs, £7 2s 6d; Win. Longhurst, repairs, £30*' Thos. Robinson, repairs, £5. No. 2 Ward: Henry Damant,Jrepairs, £12 ss ; John Morgan, B^' 12s Jonn Morgan, repairs, £2 10s; Thomas Morgan, repairs, £2 ss: Thoma3 Morgan, repairs, £4 10s; Thomas Wilton, repairs, £8 10s ; John Wflmshuret, do., £9 6s; F. Bassett, construction. £40 7s 6d ; Chas. Lewer, construction, £13 3s: Messrs. Edwards & Crowe, construction, £7 10s 4d. No. 3 Ward : Messrs. Cook & Stuart, repairs. £2 Is: Wm. Howell, repairs, £16; Win. Howell, repairs, £6. No. 4 Ward : Wm. Gosling, repairs, £3 3s ; John Prlngle, repairs, £4 17s 6d ; Peter Speedy, construction, £15. No. 5 Ward : Robert and Thomas Hunter, repairs. £9 17s 6d. No. 7 Ward : Alex. Martin, repairs, £6 7s 6d*; Joseph Rouse, repairs, £2 9s; George Southee, construction, £8 ss: Contingencies, £104 6s 9d. Tenders were directed to be called for work in the Peninsula and Ohiro districts. The tender of Charles Colson and Elijah Short, for metalling tile Taita road, was 'accepted, subject to the approval of the overseer. The tender of W. Rouse, W. R. Welch, C.
