AQUATICS.
Three rowing matches, with "scratch"' crews picked from the members of die Star Boating Club, took place on Saturday afternoon,- The competing crews in each case pulled in the well-known boats Maud and Eclipse. The weather was all that could be desired. The various events were as follows :'—-' ' ' V
PIRST BEAT. ; ¦ ' ' Gair (stroke) Taylor (stroke) '' Norman (No. 3) Gaudy (No. 8) Batkin (2) Sheppftrd (2) Hunter (bow) Trorison (tew) Thiswas won easily by Gair's crew* with two or three lengths to spare.
SECOND HEAT. Mackay (stroke) - J. W. Gray (stroke) Webb (No. 3) Boskroge (No; $) Lynch (No. 2) R. Gtovett (No. 2) Bethune (bow) ' Browne (tow) Won by Mackay 'screw, which 'was chosen by Webb. The race was well contested, but /. W. Gray's crew- w& overmatched, by. the winning crew, and lost by two or three lengths.
