The ketch Fanny Kelly, the property of Captain Hoyce, has been completely wreckdd at Wangaroa. She was leaving for Auckland, and when between the heads the wind died away and the tide set her on the rocks. The captain sent a man ashore in a dingy for assistance. Shortly after the wind took the vessel off the rocks, but after getting under weigh she suddenly turned over, the crew getting on her bottom. After six hours exposure they were rescued by a whaleboat. She was towed back to Wangaroa by the lona, and sold for £12. The Magellan Cloud arrived at Russell with four tons of sperm oil. A man named Armstrong died suddenly in a [ fit of delirium tremens on Sunday night. Arrived— Jessie Henderson, from Lyttelton. TheTcrimJnal session opened* this morning. The Judge's charge' contained litile of general importance, his observations being exclusively applied to the cases in the calendar. He noticed the number of indecent assault cases, and said Jhat crime was often observed to go and come in waves or tides. He touched upon the ease with which such charges could be made, and the difficulty of rebutting them. William Tedmarsh, alias Cross, pleaded guilty to a charge of forgery and uttering, and was' Sentenced to three years* hard labor. Patrick Kavanagh pleaded guilty to a charge of breaking and entering, and was sentenced to nine months' imprisonment.
