BLENHEIM. 11th December.
Mr. Joseph Ward, late M.H.R. forWairau, is coming forward for Cheviot. He will have a large support fromMarlborough, a portion of the Cheviot district. At a meeting held at Kaikoura by Mr. Harper, of Canterbury, who is also a candidate for the Cheviot district, a resolution in his favor was negatived by a -large majority in favor of Mr. Ward.
