- ■ * ■ The Marine Office' gives notice in the Gazette that the Harbor Master at Wellington reports that it is the intention of the Provincial Government -to establish, after the 15th inst., a harbor light to the entrance to the Manawatu River. This light will be shown from a lantern at the flagstaff, and will be 45 feet above the level of the sea. It will be a white light, and be visible in clear weather all round seaward at a distance of about eleven miles, allowing 10 feet for the height of the observer's eye. The steamers Hawea and Ladybird have been bar-bound at the Manukau Heads since yesterday morning. The collier barque AnneMelhuish, Captain Chadwick, arrived from Newcastle this , afternoon with a cargo of coals. The barque Spirit of the South, from Hobarton, with timber for the new Government Buildings, was signalled at the Heads this afternoon.
