A farm of 234 Ucres, near Cambridge, Waikato, was sold, by auction to-day at 2Gs per acre. National Insurance shares were sold, to-day at 19s Gd. The charge .^gainst Dr- Coughtry, of the ship Chile, for assaulting Ann Vesey, putting her . in irons, and otherwise ill-treating her, has been remanded for a week. Mr Kirk, the Secretary of the Acclimatisation Society, has resigned, owing to his having received the appointment of, lecturer on Natural Science in connection with Wellington College. At a meeting of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church, it was resolved that meetings be held annually at Wellington, Christchurch, and Auckland, in turn. " t; f - 9thiDecembeiT.
