THE PIPITEA POINT NUISANCE.

XO THE EDITOR OF THE EVENING POST. , Sir— l observe tbat a case, arising oat of the barbarous custom of depositing tbe filth of the , town upon the beach at Pipitea Pent, Shag at length found its way into tbe law courts. It is only surprising to me, from toy knowledge of tbe disgusting state of that locality, tbat the inhabitants have not long risen en masse against a continuation of such a revolting practice as tbat which has been permitted from year to year.

The authorities have, however, at last awakened from their state of indifference, and proclaimed a public manure depot, the use of which is to be encouraged by a bonus for every cart of filth taken to it. There is now, therefore, no longer any possbile reason vrhy the respectable rate* payers of Pipitea Point should be forced to submit to depreciation of their properties and suffering in health from the cause above mentioned, and surely, if there is no law existing for the punishment of offenders against decency, the sooner such a law for dealing with them summarily iB passed the better. I am, &c, TBRMIKU3.
