BETHUNE & H"7tfTER beg to inform the merchants of Wellington and owners of Wool, Flax, Tallow, Hides and other Produce, that it is their intention to hold a public sale during the wool 3easou every Wednesday, at 12 o'clock noon, at their old premises, the Exchange, at the Head of the Bay. Storage cau be provided for 1000 to 1500 bales of Wool, with ample convenience for showing and selling to advantage. The lots will be put up in the order they are received into store, and wool will be lotted and placed on show for examination one or more days prior to the date of sale. la the event of a satisfactory price not being obtaiuerl by auction, arrangements can be made for granting an advance, and shipping wool and other produce to London on account of the owner. If notice is giveu in proper time, wool can be insured against risk of losa by fire, from the moment it is taken oft the sheeps back until it has been sold or shipped. Wool or other Produce will be received into store at any time, and retained until the owner comes into town, or sends instructions, and while there can be insured, if desired, against riak of loss by fire. It is scarcely necessary to state that the practice of selling wool by public auction has been followed with great success in the neighboring colonies of New South Wales and Victoria, and in the adjoining Provinces of Dunedin, Canterbury, and Auckland, and frequently Tesults in the growers obtaining far higher prices than if they had sold by private contract, or shipped on their own account.
