Basilisk at 8 a.m. off the Kaikouras"; arrived in harbour at 8.30 p.m. yesterday ; had strong N.W. winds throughout. _ . H.M.S. Basilisk, Captain Moresby, arrived in harbour last night at 9 o'clock, irom Lyttelton. The s.sJKeera> Captain Carey, left Port Chalmers on the 23rd at 4 a.m. j arrived at Oft mar v at 10 a.m. ; left Oamsru at 5 p.m., arrived at Lyttelton on the 24th at 3 p.m.; left on the 25th at 1 p.m., and arrived in harbour at 9 p.m. on the 26th. Experienced fine weather to Lyttelfcon, from.thence to* this port strong N.W. wind and heavy sea. ■ The s.s. Wellington, Captain Kennedy, crossed Manukau bar, at 7.15 p.m. on the 23 rd, arriving at i Taranaki the following morning at 10.15 am., having had to contend with strong S. W. wind and head sea the greater part of the passage to that port; left Taranaki at 3.15 p. m; same day, experiencing light southerly winds and fine weather till "arrival at N;elson at 6.45 am. on the 25th ; left Nelson at 6:20' am., on the 26th, having light N.W. winds to Picton, which was reached at 3 15 p.m. same day ; left Pbton at 2 a.m. this day, and arrived at Wellington Wharf at 7.45 a.m., encountering strong N. winds across the Straits. .
