A fatal accident, attended with, the loss of the life of 3lr. Barrett, occurred at Motupipi. A horse aud cart, containing four persous, was capsized in a small stream, and, the horse having titr-uck 2l>*. Barrett, ho never rallied. The weather on the West Coast has been very boisterous during the lastfew weeks, and heavy rains fell over the Nelson Province and the N.W. portion of the Middle Island. The Provincial Council of Kelson were discussing the construction of a dry dock in Nelson, aMdt was thought that the undertaking would, soon be commenced.
