THE Board of Management purpose dividing the city into districts, so that they may personally call upon the inhabitants ■of Wellington for subscriptions. The public are earnestly invited to support the society, and in the meantime donations and subscriptions may be paid to the Treasurer, Secretary, any member of the Board of Management, or to the Society's account at tlie Bank of New Zealand. The following rules for the society are approved of by the board :— 1 Every subscriber of £2 28 to the fund shall have the privilege of recommending ■oases fur relief ; nnd all applications for relief must be signed by a subscriber on forms supplied by the society, nnd pa** through a member of the Board of Management. 2 Annual subscriptions of £2 2s and up "wards may be made payible quarterly or half-yearly, to meet the convenience of t lie sulisoriliera, but always in advance. 3 Order books for relief shall be placed in the bands of the members of the Board of Management, nnd us fur as is compatible with the circumstances of each case, relief shnil always he administered in kind. 4 '( he Board of Management shall meet on the Tuesday of each « ock, dm ing the winter at 4.30 p m., a';d at s-uch other times as may lie considered nee ssary, in order to bring forward cases known or recommended to them ; to ju-tify their own orders for relief ; and to pay the weekly accounts. ' 5 Three to form a quorum. 6 All cases for relief in money (except such as are provided for in rule 7) to be sanctioned by the Board of Management. 7 Doubt fnl cases to be sent to the Resident Magistrate for enquiry, who shall have the power of gran 1 , ing pecuniary and other relief at bis discretion, in urgent cases. 8 No relief to bj granted for a period beyond one week, without the sanction of the Board of Management.
