THE WEST COAST GOLD FIELDS. 26,000 OUNCES OF GOLD SENT TO SYDNEY. (From the Nelson Colonist, May 8.
We have advices from tlw various ports of the West Coast by iiha ("roUienburg, which arrived yesterday afternoon. There is but Jit kip upw, t.n report. The s.s. Lord Ashley left Hokitika for Sydney on Friday with 8315 ounces of gold from that port. She takes altogether about 26,000 ounces, as that amount was telegraphed as having been booked for transmission. The balance, between 17,000 and 18,000 ounces, has therefore been exported from the Grey. We presume a portion of the Hokitika export includes Okarita gold.
