Caribou arrived from Glasgow with one hundred and fifty emgiraats. Liabilities of Messrs. Lazarus & Co., amount to twenty-five thousand pounds; the assets are nearly as much. The Taieri annual ploughing match took plaGe yesterday ; there were twentyeight competitors. The nomination of candidates for the Superin tendency took place to-day : the show of hands was in favor of Mr. M'Glashan ; Mr. Dick demanded a poll. The first nnmber of the Dunedin Herald published to-day. Weather stormy.
