ADELAIDE. April 25.
Rain has commenced, and there is every sign of its continuance. It is much wanted. South Australia has not suffered from such a protracted drought for many years. Reports from the country districts state that sheep and cattle are dying by thousands . April 29th. The Governor, by Gazette notice, orders the central portion of the colony, south of 16 degrees north of 26 degrees south latitude, to be called " Alexandra Land" There is considerable inquiry for wheat at 8s 6d,but little offering. Flour at £19 10s to £20.
