MAJOR-GENERAL GALLOWAY.

His Fxcellency the Governor htving been pleased to accept Major-General Galloway's re-ignu ion of the command of the Colonial Fnms of the province of Auckland, tendered in consequence of his approaching return to Eiulaml, — It now only remains for the M^jor-Gene-nil to bid laiewrll to the force which he has commanded with pride and satisfaction to himself. To officers commanding corps he offers his best thnnks for the cordial assistance they hive afforded him in maintaining the discipiinu of th 6 force; and to the officers,'noncommissioned officers, and men generally* , for their gallant nnd sofdier-U'co bcarini? when hefi re the < neiny, and their cheerful performance of the artluoujkand harassing duties of outpost services, which, to men unused to a soldier's life, must have been frequently both trying and irksome.
