What noise of a noisy neighbour annoys you most? Mr Hope Bagenal, the well-known architect, is trying to solve the problem of build- j ing, after the war, flats in which tenants will be protected against noise, states a London paper. According to Mr Bagenal, the worst sources of noise, in the order of nuisance, are: wireless sets, slamming of doors, footsteps overhead, intermittent traffic, refuse bins, lifts and staircases, plumbing and boiler-room noises. He thinks that the flats of the future should have bedroom against bedroom on the party partition, and no bedroom against the living-room with its I wireless set.
A new pair of shoes has been "constructed" for John William Kirwin, freshman at Ohio State University, states The New York Times. Kirwin, 6ft. 6in. tall, weighs 2301b., and is still growing. His shoes were made by a Lebanon, Ohio, shoe builder. They are 16in. in length and nearly 6in. wide.
