WEDDING

UPSTON—AIAEN

The marriage took place recently at St. John's Presbyterian Church, Killinchy, of Margaret Wylie, .youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Alex Allen, Kiilihchy, to John Selwyn, younger son of Mr and. Mrs E. E. Upston, Selwyn, who recently returned from the Middle East after serving tti. Greece, as an instructor in the Anti-Tank Brigade. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. L. MeM&ster and Miss Jean Lemon was organist. The church was beautifully decorated by friends of the bride.

Escorted .to the church by her father, the bride • was wearing a handsome gown of deep magnolia satin, the square neckline with three rolls of matching rouleau and finished at the back with a row of tiny buttons. The sleeves, squared at the shoulders, were finished with a point over the wrists, and the graceful train- fell from a falling basque over the hips while a beautiful tulle veil, lent by her sister, Mrs Auchre Torrance, fell in1 soft folds from a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of freezias, heather, camelias and pink hyacinths.

The bridesmaid, Miss Sadie Upston, sister of the bridegroom, w6fe a dainty frock of cyclamen nirion over taffeta, made with full circular skirt, slightly cross-over bodice, finished with heart-shaped neckline and tiny buttons down to the pointed waistline at back, and puffed sleeves. Her bouquet consisted of cyclamens, stocks arid anemones, with a matching spray in her hair. Ships Radio Officer G. J. Arnold, cousin of the bridegroom, attended as best man. Oft leaving the cltitrtffi tKe bride was presented with a silver horse shoe by her little neiee, Helen Torrahce. The wedding reception was held in the Killinchy Hall, where Mrs Allen and Mrs Upston received the guests, Mrs Allen wearing a midnight blue ensemble with hat to match, navy accessories and a spray of freezias and grape hyacinths. Mrs Upston, the bridegroom's mottier, was wearing a tailored costume of Air Force blue, a skunk stole, navy hat and matching accessories, with, a spray of red anemones.

The happy couple left for the North Island where the bridegrodm will be stationed for the next few months* at Waiouru Militaty Cetnipi The bride travelfed in & beige ensemble with mit torbwh coat and hat arid matching accessories.
