At a recent meeting of the Christchurch Presbytery it was arranged that the Rev. L. McMaster, of Leeston, should take charge of Knox Church, Christchurch, for a period of six .months, so that the Rev. T. W. Armour could be released on urgent Assembly business. It was also arranged that the Rev. J. W. Hayward should take over the Rev. Mr McMaster's work at Leeston in the meantime. The Rev. Mr Hayward, whose recent appointments had been at Akaroa and Hokitika, is not entirely a stranger in this district. He will make his headquarters at the Manse ait Leeston, where Mrs McMaster and family will continue to reside. The Rev. Mr McMaster, who left Leeston today, expected to be able to visit the district frequently. The arrangement, he pointed out, was a temporary one and while the period fixed was six months/ it might. actually be less.
