One of the successful students at Canterbury Agricultural College is Mr T. E. M. Brooks, son of Mr and Mrs Joseph Brooks, of Brookside. He completed the academic year by being awarded the College diploma with the Wreford Reed memorial cup and Marcroft challenge medal for knowledge of livestock; the Southdown Sheep Society's challenge shield for judging Southdown sheep; Dalgety and Company's challenge cup for shearing, shepherding and wool-classing conjointly. This is a most creditable record and an indication of the thoroughness and efficiency of the instructional work given at the College.
