A meeting of the Leeston Patriotic Committee is to tie held on Monday evening.
Irwell Patriotic Committee is to meet tomorrow evening to arrange for a social to Private W. Millar.
Preliminary notice of a cljearjng sale on account of Mr A. Adams, Killinchy, on Monday, March 17, is advertised in this issue.
In the Doyleston Hall .tomorrow evening, Gunner E. Vince will be •the guest of the residents at a complimentary social, at which there will be cards and dancing. Friends throughout the district are invited to be present.
The first meeting for this year of the Leeston sub-centre of the Red Cross Society will be 'held in the Library on Tuesday afternoon next, March 4. All members and intending members are cordially invited to be present. There is important business to discuss and a large attendance of all interested in the work of the society during the coming year is urgently desired.
Perfect weather conditions enabled the St. John's Anglican Sunday School to spend a very happy day at Coe's Ford on Saturday, on the occasion of the annual outing. Land and riv.er races, games, ice cream, sweets, an excellent lunch and tea and the presence of many parents and friends all contributed to ,an enjoyable picnic. The officials are grateful to Messrs Felton, Bryce, and Baylis for .fee loan of cars and to Mr'E. Mclntyre for his usual acceptable gift of sweets.
