The Italian Press claims that an electric train covered the distance between Bologna and Milan at the rate of 97.4 miles an hour on a nonstop trial run. Rover, a brown collie belonging to Mr Chal Mahoney, a chauffeur, of Montclair, New Jersey, lately celebrated his twenty-first birthday with a feast of onions. He attributes his advanced age (if Mr Mahoney interprets him correctly) to his diet, and believes that onions will give him at least another five years of life.
