A large globular glass burial urn of the second century found during excavations at Colchester, on the site of the city of Camulodunum, has been reconstructed from hundreds of fragments and exhibited at Colchester and Essex Museum.
A whale washed ashore at Pagigoe, near Wick, in the North of Scotland, has been identified as a whalebone whale of the roqual species. It is a rare visitor to the coast of Northern Scotland, and a report has been sent to Natural History Museums of Edinburgh and London.
