LINCOLN CLUB ACTIVITIES
At the last meeting of the Lincoln Chess Club, a mption of sympathy with the president, Mr S. Bray, in his recent bereavement, was passed by members standing in silence. The following were elected to the handicap tournament committee :— i Messrs W. H. Johnston, K. Hammond, and R. Harris. ! A programme of visits to other clubs was discussed and it was arranged that there should be a visit to Christchurch on May 14. The organising of a triangular tournament between the Lincoln Chess Club and the Rakaia and Leeston-Southbridge players was left to the secretary and Dr. W. A. Johnston to arrange to take place in Leeston on May 28.
