The Southbridge Swimming Club will open its season next Saturday afternoon, weather permitting.
A concert and dance in aid of the school funds is to be held at Dunsandel on Tuesday, December 17.
The Southbridge Tennis Club has arranged a social for next Friday evening in honour of Mr H. W. Hickman, who is leaving the district, and Mr L. R. Maw, whose marriage took place recently. Both have been active members of the club for a number of years. There will be cards and dancing, and all friends are invited to attend.
A very successful euchre and dance social was held by the Lakeside Hall Committee on Saturday night in aid of its funds. At cards the successful players were Misses M. Sloan and V. Stretz, and Messrs Norman Brown and L. Hintz. Mr Richards gave an exhibition of tap dancing which was greatly appreciated. After supper a dance was held, Mrs R. Lambie and Mr A. Lambie supplying the music, while Mr P. Barnett was M.C.
