LEESTON.
Miss Bowis presided over a good attendance at the monthly meeting of the Leeston Women's Institute, held on Tuesday. A letter was received from the secretary of the Doyleston Athletic Club, stating that the institute had been granted permission to run a refreshment booth at the sports on Boxing Day.
It was reported that arrangements were well in hand for the garden party to be held at the residence of Mrs P. B. Birkett on December 10. Should the weather conditions be unfavourable, it will take place on the following Thursday.
Mrs Clausen, who was one of the delegates at the half-yearly meeting of the North Canterbury Federation, gave a very interesting report of the meeting.
