The Egyptians used shorthand more than 1700 years ago. The language of the shorthand- was not Egyptian, but Greek. , '* When Mr E. Moyser, Southend, England, found his wireless set was not working, he removed the back and found a family of five mice nesting there. Some of the nest was made of insulation torn from the wires. The mice have been adopted* as family pets.
Golden eagles fly faster than two miles a minute. Timed over a three and a-half miles course in the mountains of Scotland, one was observed to be making this speed, at the same time gaining 1000 ft. in altitude.
When the new motor road is built between Cairo and Jerusalem, at a cost of £2,000,000, travellers will make in less than 40 hours the journey that took Moses and the Israelites as many years.
