EDGAR WALLACE
(From the Guardian's Special Corres-
pondent—By Air Mail)
LONDON, May 4
Miss Patricia Marion Wallace (now Mrs Frere-Reeves), daughter of the late Edgar Wallace, will pay her creditors 6/- in the pound. Mr Charles Wakeling, her trustee, told a meeting of her creditors in London this week: "This girl was brought up in the lap of luxury, and was often given a cheque for £1000 by her father. She was able to buy in
reason anything she liked. Then her father died, and she found herself owing about £1700. She immediately handed over her jewellery and furs, together with any interests she might receive out of her father's estate, for the benefit of her creditors. She could not have done more."
The trustee said her assets had realised £400. The only assets not realised were a bracelet watch which might be worth £10 and an interest in the estate of Mr Edgar Wallace— a hundred £1 shares. Mr Wakeling said he could pay a dividend of 3/8 immediately. He was authorised to sell the shares and increase this to 6/-, which is to be accepted in full discharge of the debts.
