A further tribute to the efficiency of Maori dairy farmers, who comprise practically the whole of the suppliers to the Ngatiporou dairy factory, on the East Coast, is contained in a letter received from the company's London agents, which states inter alia: "We are very pleased to say that the quality ig an improvement on that
which we have received in past years and is one of the finest butters we are receiving at present. It has just the right percentage of salt, and we are glad to note that you are keeping the colour quite pale. A great fault with a lot of New Zealand butters is that the colour on receipt is much too high and frightens buyers away." j
