REPORTS TO POWER BOARD,

SALES REVENUE INCREASE,

DAMAGE BY GALES

In his report to the Power Board, the engineer-secretary, Mr L. C. Vicary, states that the revenue from the sales of current for the past two months showed an increase of £667 13s. The cost of current for December was less than for the corresponding period of the previous year by £104 7s. and for January, £48 12s less than for the same month last year.

A supply of 35ft. poles was required, and he recommended that desapped ironbark poles should be purchased.

The Government audit had been completed and the balance-sheet forwarded to the Auditor-General. There were £800 worth of debentures unsold in the No Redemption Loan, and in view of the fact that the Board would have to place about £500 to the depreciation fund, he had enquired from the audit inspector whether it would be possible to cancel the amount of the debentures, and make a deduction from the amount to be placed aside tor depreciation. The Board's inspector reports that during January eleven additions and extensions had been made, and one j range and three motors connected. In the Paparua county, according to the supervisor's report for January, longer arms were fitted along Wilson's road, Sockburn, and the wires were tightened up. The main line poles had been bored and inspected, and several would need replacing. On January 18, a leaking insulator had burnt an arm off the main line at Hornby, causing interruption until it was replaced. Sixteen disconnexions and reconnexions had been carried out, and 33 minor faults rectifisd.
