THE SPARROW CHAMPIONSHIP.

Very difficult conditions prevailed on Saturday, when the Ellesmere Gun Club held its annual club sparrow championship at Lakeside. The light was bad and it was impossible to sight some of the birds. Most of the sparrows were fast and tricky. There were 22 entries and the winner of the championship was S. M. Jackman, who had to shoot off with W. Winchester.
