good plan to give them access to another pen where they can have a small trough to themselves.
The effect of potash applications on grasslands is shown by the closer and more vigorous growth of clover, but also frequently by the much greater extent to which the potash-treated plots arc grazed. This effect of potash on the grazing quality or palatability of the herbage is a real one, and merits close investigation.
Tobacco, always a joy to the smoker, is never perhaps better appreciated than on a long railway journey when one has, perforce, to remain a prisoner for hours at a time. Such is the beneficent influence of the weed that it will relieve even the tedium of the longest journey. These brands are grown and manufactured in New Zealand. They are all toasted in the making and hence their flavour and fragrance. They can be smoked pipeful after pipeful, with impunity, because, unlike the imported tobaccos, they are comparatively free from nicotine. That's why doctors recommend them.
