TAI TAPU
In spite of the wintry storm of last Thursday, a large aud representative gathering of Tai Tapu residents met in the hall to lionour Mrs E. Wallace, an old and highly esteemed rcsiwho, after 40 years' residence, has left t« reside in Christehurch. Mr T. O. Morgan presided. He asked Mrs AVallace to accept a silver tea service and an electric radiator as tokens of goodwill and esteem j Mr H. Kimber responded on Mrs Wallace's behalf. A line musical programme was rendered.
Tbe successful tenderer for Rhodes Park bridge was Mr F. AVilliamson, who started his contract yesterday.
