CHILDREN'S CONCERT
LEESTON CONVENT SCHOOL
A PACKED AUDIENCE
In the Leeston Catholic Hail last
evening, the Convent pupils gave a first-class concert which provided entertainment for a crowded audience. The programme was similar to the one lufsented.on June 13 before Bishop Brodie and many priests from Christ-churt-li. The visitors on that occasion were delighted with the items chosen and the perfection with which they were rendered, and their comment was I that, judged by exacting musical standards, the concert had no rival in any children's performance they had seen m. town. y 0 highly spoken of was the concert that a desire arose among many people to hear the children for themselves. This they were given an opportunity of doing last evening. There were choruses, action songs, recitations, dial;^ues, duets, and instrumental offerings, the school orchestra earning special praise for its part. The programme went with a snap, and the audience left the hall quite willing ty endorse the high opinions expressed by those who had witnessed the first presentation, when the detailed programme was published. Residents of Southbridge have a treat in store, as the pupils will stage the same items there in the near future.
