COMEDIES OF THE KILT.

A crusade against the improper wearing of kilts is being waged in Scotland. Not only do visitors from the South and from overseas wear kilts, but they do not even wear them correctly. To carry the kilt too high above the knees is regarded as the blackest of sins, and in some cases as much as three inches |of limb has been showing above the i knee-cap. j The attention drawn by these badlyworn iilts has led to the discovery that no one, not even the leaders of the clans, knows just what is the correct height at which the kilt is to be worn. The subject has been brought before the Kilt Society. Among the soldiers of Highland regiments the popular test for the correct '' hang and height of the kilt is, when it has been buckled, to kneel on the floor with both knees together. The lower edge of the kilt should just touch the ground when the body is held upright in this position.
