CREAM GRADING
UNIFORMITY (OF STANDARD,
IMPROVEMENT IN POSITION.
The serious lack of uniformity among the various dairy factories in the grading of cream, mentioned in the Guardian last week, does not now exist .to so great an extent as was the case a short time ago. Mr E. G. Bishop, president of the Ellesmere branch of the Farmers' Union, who has been in communication with Mr Clayton, of the Dairy Produce Division of the Department of Agriculture, with a view to convening a meeting of suppliers to discuss the position, states that Mr Clayton has been away at Timaru, and has not been able to do anything with regard to a meeting so far. In the meantime, a Government 1 officer has visited the factories, and they are now on a more level footing as regards grading. It is hoped to be able to call the meeting next week.
