Hideo Takahira, of Tokio, has dis- j covered that a man sft. 6in. in height has a skin surface measuring approximately 18 square feet. To commemorate Sir Francis Drake's association with the River Medway, a model of his famous ship, the Golden Hind, has been hung in the- Dockyard Church at Chatham. This ship was the , first English vessel to sail round the world. Intellectual men are most popular as prospective husbands, according to a census taken at one women's college, with home-lovers and athletes as a second choice. Scrap metal, including old bicycle spokes and bits of sheet metal, have been used by a pair of pigeons for building their nest in the yard of a Greenwich metal merchant.
