MISSIONARY UNION.
The closing meeting of the Southbridge branch of the P.W.M.TJ. was held yesterday afternoon in the Presbyterian Hall. The meeting took the form of a gjft afternoon, the gifts to be sent to a Maori missionary. There was a good attendance of members and friends and also of pupils of the school. The following contributed to the programme:l—Mrs Bennett (recitations), Mrs Edwards, Misses E. Parkin, N. Beamsley and Eggelton (solos). The Rev. W: G. Hannah gave a brief outline of the work among the Maori missionaries in the North Island. At the close a substantial parcel of Christmas gifts was prepared and sent to Sister Annie, of Ruatahuna.
