SOUTHBRIDGE
TWO PEOSPECTIVE BRIDES.
Last night, in the Presbyterian Hall, i Misses Jessie Hannah and Maude Parkin, who arc to be married shortly, , were entertained at a social evening, at which there was a large attendance of their friends. Both young ladies have been valuable members of the church choir for a number of years, and they, have also figured prominently in various church activities. On behalf of their friends Mr A. McPherson presented each of the guests with a silver hot water jug and conveyed good wishes for their future happiness. There were enjoyable games and musical items. Mrs Eggleton contributed a song, Mrs Bennett and Miss Mason recitations and Miss Nellie Beamsley a pianoforte piece. The sextette "Leando" was given by Misses G. and ~K. Greenall, Campbell, Williamson, Gilbert and E. Parkin. Supper was served and the function concluded with the singing of Auld Lang Sync. The success of the evening was largely due to Mrs P. W.
Scott's work.
