SOUTHBRIDGE

We are indebted to Mr J. W. A. Wai ker, headmaster of the Southbridge Dis triet High School, for the following, in teresting information concerning th< successes gained by pupils of tht school:— In the 1919-20 university and depart mental examinations, the results oi which have recently been published, the following successes have been gained by candidates from the Southbridge District High School:—Harold F. Hookway (pupil teacher), Matriculation and Solicitor's General Knowledge; Susan C. Boyd (Intermediate and Partial Pass in Matriculation) • Kathleen Cowan (Intermediate); Annie Rowe (Intermediate); Mabel Eade (Intermediate); Nellie Walker (Intermediate). Of the above Annie Rowe gained 376 marks out of a possible 400 in Mathematics, which should constitute almost a record for the Dominion. Already several fresh pupils f rom various parts of the district have been

admitted, and parents of pupils who have not yet presented themselves would be well advised to see that they become enrolled without unnecessary delay. The secondary department, under the skilful guidance of Miss K. P. Wills 8.A., wilT resume its educational activities with renewed .vigour as soon as

the Health authorities permit. Pupils are prepared up to the Public Service and Matriculation requirements, and the school offers special facilities to those desiring to adopt the teaching profession or to eater any of the various departments of the Government service. Technical classes, under skilled instructors have been provided for, while Mr W. Martin, B.Se., will be directly responsible for instruction in

scientific subjects. The headmaster, Mr J. W. A. Walker, will be pleased to confer with, and advise, parents of intending pupils, at his private residence, Southbridgc.
