ROOSTER COMPETITION.
• On Saturday afternoon last a J three-rink Rooster match was played on the Southbridge green, between Leeston and Southbridge, resulting in a win for the home team by the comfortable margin of 17 points. The conditions for play were excellent, the green being in firstclass order, and the sunshine ! much appreciated. A special vote of thanks was accorded the ladies who supplied and dispensed afternoon tea. Following are the scores :— Leestoh—Fisse, Halliday. Purser, Johnston (skip) 25 j Southbridge— Mccormick, Morrison, Hubbard, Garrigan (skip) 23. Leeston—Clausen, Jacobs, Donald, Robertson (skip) 13; Southbridge— E. A. Inwood, MicEvedy, Lambie, Walker (skip) 24.. Leeston—Gardiner, Dr Volckman, Power, Neave (skip) 15; Southbridge—Dr Withers, Wickliffe, Collier, Curran (skip) 23. Southbridge players aire reminded that the club competitions still remain % unfinished, and as the season is fast drawing to a close, it is urgently necessary that the various fixtures should be played off without delay. The green will be in readiness on each Wednesday and Saturday throughout the current month, those members who are still in any of the competitions are requested to make their own arrangements for playing off their games.
