DOMAIN BOARD

A meeting of the Board was held on Thursday last and was attended by the following members: Messrs J. L. Davidson, (Chairman) E, C, Wood, W- Gye, W. Wilson, C. J. Davidson, J. R. Ross and E- A. Grant. The Board accepted the tender of Mr L. Vercoe of £389 for the erection of a community kitchen building and conveniences at the Motor Camp on the Clyde Domain. The work is to be completed before the Christmas holidays. There will be some further expenses in connection with the Camp improvements, including installation of electric light and a few extras in connection with the building. Four outside concrete fire-places are to be erected at sites near the building. The Board will later appoint a supervisor to have charge of the Camp. The Chairman reported L that contributions to the (extent of approximately £2OO will have been received when collecting ceases. The Board members expressed their appreciation of the response from residents throughout Clyde and Earnscleugh districts who had contribuied so generously. It was decided that the children’s swings on the Domain will be put in order and that the slide, which is in a somewhat dangerous condition, would be dismantled as it would be [too costly to repair. The Board wishes to acknowledge with ■ grateful thanks the following further subs, towards the cost of the building at the Motor Camp.
