Macgregor & Trim Invercargill report:— The accumulated apple stocks have been cleared and most lines are now being disposed of as they come to hand. There is every indication of the better values ruling for good samples. Pears are on the light side but we recommend consignments of Coles or Nelis. Vegetables are meeting sound demand. Current prices:—Apples dessert Cox’s Orange to 9s, Delicious 7s, Jonathans to 6s, Cookers ss, Desse&t pears 3s to 3s 6d per dump, Cauliflowers to 7s 6d, Cabbages to 3s 6d. D. W. McKay Ltd., Invercargill report:— Stocks of off grade lines in apples have now been largely cleared and supplies now coming to hand are more according to the requirements of the trade, high coloured Jonathans and Delicious are in better supply, Coxs are in good demand with very few offering, Romes, Canadas and Munros are meeting with ready sale. Prices: Jonathans and Delicious 5s 6d to 6s 6d, Coxs to 9s 6d, Cookers 4s to ss. Pears in good supply, prices are 2s 2d to 2s 9d, Cauliflowers to Bs, .Cabbage to 6s, Celery to 4s meeting with reasonable sale, other vegetables low m price including pumpkins and marrows, potatoes firm 6s to 7s, seed including Jersey Benne, King Edward, Arran Banner and Arran Chief now available.
