The Merrymakers Band hold a dance at Clyde on Friday night. The egg market was erratic in Dunedin last week. When supplies ran short brokers put up the price to Is 4d per dozen, but when consignors rushed in supplies the price promptly dropped to Is 2d. A delightful evening was enjoyed by those present at a dance, under the auspices of the Loyal Vincent Lodge, held in the Ophir Peace Hall on Friday evening Isat. Though there were few visitors in attendance there was a large and representative number of local residents present and altogether a happy evening resulted. A sumptuous supper was provided by the ladies committee who had co operated whole-heartedly iin this direction and as is characteristic of the ladies in that area they were indefatigaj ble in their efforts, hence the refreshments, decorations, etc, were on a generous scale.
