OMAKAU NOTES

The brick work of the new Bank ot New Zealand at Omakau, is now finished, and the contractor, Mr Thus Wilkinson of Clyde, is at present busy on the interior. The Bank, when finished, will fill a much felt want in this district. The Zingari Pdchmond Football Club of Dunedin, purpose visiting Omakau at Easter, to play the Matakanui Club. The match takes place on Easter Saturday, and is being eagerly looked forward to. - There is every possibility of a hall being erected at Omakau within the next few months. The building is to be a substantial and comfortable struct- . ure, and will, rvhen erected, be utilised often. Mrs Caldw'ell who underwent a serious operation in Dunedin, it steadily improving in health. • Messrs T. Clouston, Morgan and Patton, are at present m the wilds ol the West Coast, on a deerstalking expedition. Mr Patton anticipates on * his return, being in first rate condition for the coming football season.
