Two performances on the local links on Saturday deserve to be recorded. W. M. Lopdell did a round in 39 (six under bogey) and M. Warhurst did the Garden hole in one. The latter has yet to pay the penalty (an unwritten law), but there are at least a couple of firms who give suitable trophies that should allow Mr Warhurst to fulfil his obligation.
