FASCIST POLICY.

From time to time rumours are circulated abroad of disagreements between His Majesty King Victor Emanuel and Signor Mussolini. The Consul for Italy, Commendatore M. Blunno, made to-day the following official statement: “His Majesty welcomed the advent of Fascismo, as lie realised that it was a patriotic movement headed' by the young generation which, having fought and won the war, could be relied upon to give the distracted nation the blessing of internal peace. The Italian people are staunch monarchists, and are particularly devoted to their King. They will never forget that His Majesty and the Crown Prince, on the day Italy declared war on Austria-Hun-gary, left for the front and only returned to Rome after the war was won and the armistice signed. “The Italian nation is quite satisfied that King and Prime Minister work hand in hand, and nobody in Italy has any apprehension on that or on any other account. His Majesty and Signor Mussolini, apart from being united by the same national ideal, have a mutual personal liking. It often happens that they drive out together for an informal inspection of some public work, such as land reclamation, or to some agricultural experiment station. “Law and order were not restored in Italy without losses to the rank and file of the Black Shirts themselves, who hunted the Bolsheviks out of their stronghold and fought them in many encounters. Close on six thousand of them laid down their young lives, and their memory is revered like that of the soldiers fallen in the war. city and district of Bologna were in. Italy perhaps the hottest bed of Bolshevism. and there a large number of Black Shirts were killed. A chapel was fittingly erected in the named city in memory of the Italian Fascists fallen for the national cause, and on the 29th May, during the consecration ceremony of the chapel, His Majesty King Victor, true interpreter of the sentiment of the Italian people, laid a laurel wreath on the cenotaph and lit a lamp which will burn perennially in grateful remembrance. ’ ’ Signor Blunno adds that not the slightest reliance is to be put on sensational reports concerning Italy’s Prime Minister, as they originate from biased sources. Many disgruntled Italian politicians who found their native country too hot for them are now abroad busy devising the foulest means to discredit Signor Mussolini and belittle Italy. It is now public knowledge that those evil-doers, who in the past have been a plague to the country, have decided to sink their political differences and wage from without the war against Fascimo which they were unable, to conduct from within. They have agreed on a programme of direct action; they have also established press agencies in London, Paris, Berlin, Geneva, New York, Buenos Aires, and will publish their own newspaper. The reading public may henceforth look forward to startling fiction and to a regular budget of malevolent news. i
